Angora Goats 2025

Entries close Friday 7th March 2025 with Oakey Show Secretary, PO Box 91, Oakey 4401.

  • All goats must be penned by 8.30 am for judging at 9.00am on Saturday 15th March 2025

  • All exhibits must remain on the showgrounds until 4.00 p.m. Saturday of Show

  • Goats entered in a class for which they are found ineligible may be transferred to any class for which they are eligible

  • An animal, which in the opinion of the Steward is not in a fit state to be exhibited, may be rejected by him/her or be barred from competing in the class for which it is entered 

  • Fire Ants- In Queensland, the Biosecurity Act 2014 requires everyone to take reasonable steps to prevent the spread of fire ants. Exhibitors of horses, beef cattle, angora goats or potted plants are reminded that Biosecurity Rules need to be followed to exhibit at the Oakey Show.

  • Anyone bringing hay, straw, chaff, silage or potted plants from Queensland Fire Ant Zones to and from the Oakey Showgrounds must comply with the current Queensland Fire ant movement requirements.

  • Anyone located inside the fire ant biosecurity zones and dealing with materials that can carry fire ants must follow their general biosecurity obligation by:

  • - Checking the fire ant biosecurity zones before moving materials off-site.

  • -Using fire ant-safe practices when handling, storing and removing materials.

  • Bedding may be brought to the Oakey Show, but must be left onsite at the conclusion of the show.

Class  1008: Sire's Progeny Group

Three angoras, minimum of one buck, all progeny of one sire registered in the exhibitors name at the time of service. Sire to be named on entry form. Entries must be entered in individual classes.

Class  1009: Breeders Group

Group to comprise three animals, the progeny of two or more sires, both sexes to be represented and all must be bred by the exhibitor and entered in the stud classes. Names of Sires to be specified at the time of entry.
